Gallup Brain

Gallup Brain provides a searchable database of full-text public opinion information gathered through Gallup Polls since 1935. It contains responses to more than 136,000 questions asked in interviews and surveys of 3.5 million people over the last 70 years. Results of surveys can be searched by keyword or browsed by decade or topic. Surveys cover a wide range of topics such as presidential politics, health care, the economy, religion, and current events. Full-text survey results often include graphs and analysis of the survey data.

Selecting a topic under the "Topics & Trends" tab provides an overview of how public opinion on a specific topic has changed over time. Gallup Brain also includes management journal analyses, the latest Gallup questionnaires, and Gallup Poll News Service articles. New Gallup poll results are added frequently. For example, recent surveys include "Three Years of War Have Eroded Public Support" and "National Satisfaction Lowest in More Than a Decade." Especially useful for political science or history research, Gallup Brain allows researchers to quickly find out the public's view on numerous topics of current and historical national interest, ranging from the most recent presidential approval ratings to attitudes toward Prohibition in 1939.
